Come and join Hinckley u3a, a social organisation for everyone who is retired, semi-retired, or has finished raising their family. There are many hundreds of u3as in the UK and further afield but we all share the same goal: to learn, laugh, and live. Why? because this is your time to enjoy life by learning new skills, sharing your skills with others, making new friends, and experiencing new things.
So how do we achieve this? We’re lucky because we have some 45 different activity groups, literally from A (Art) to Z (Zumba). Each group is led by a member, for members and every group member shares their knowledge and expertise with others. We also have a monthly general meeting every month with an invited speaker, where we serve tea, coffee, and biscuits. So it’s an excellent opportunity to make new friends.
What’s the catch? There really isn’t one…. membership costs just £20 a year and we do ask a donation of £2 for every meeting you attend, to help towards costs of the room hire etc. You can attend as many, or as few, meetings as you want.
We use several venues in and around Hinckley for our meetings. Please note that each venue has been selected by a committee member and they all have disabled facilities
Does it sound too good to be true? Come and see for yourself! You could come to a monthly general meeting or one of the activity group meetings to see whether you like it. And your first meeting is free!
